salam
I want to get some problem using my credit card . I owe to credit card company arount $20000(US) last few years they are getting minimum payment every month with interest. now i cant pay minimum payment though and I don”t have ability to paid off my debt. so my question is how i can get excuse this money from debt ? what is the shariah solution to get off from this situation? please give me a advise.

As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.
Brother in Islaam,
A debt is payable irrespective of who the creditor is. We advise you to seek counsel from a financial advisor.
You may recite the following du’aas every morning and evening:
اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
Translation: “O Allaah, suffice me with Your lawful (means) against Your prohibited (means), and make me independent of all those besides You.” (Tirmidhi 3568)
اللهُم إني أعوذُ بكَ مِن الهَم والحَزَن، وأعوذُ بكَ مِن العَجزِ والكسَل، وأعوذُ بك مِن الجُبن والبُخلِ، وأعوذُ بكَ مِن غلَبةِ الدين وقهْر الرجال[1]
Translation: “O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from care and grief, I seek refuge in Thee from incapacity and slackness, I seek refuge in Thee from cowardice and niggardliness, and I seek in Thee from being overcome by debt and being put in subjection by men.” (Abu Dawood 1555)
If done sincerely, Allaah Ta’aala will make him debt free even if his debts reached the size of mountains[2].
And Allaah Ta’aala Knows Best.

1555 – حدثنا أحمد بن عبيد الله الغداني، أخبرنا غسان بن عوف، أخبرنا الجريري، عن أبي نضرةعن أبي سعيد الخدري، قال: دخل رسول الله – صلى الله عليه وسلم – ذات يوم المسجد، فإذا هو برجل من الأنصار يقال له: أبو أمامة، فقال: ” يا أبا أمامة، ما لي أراك جالسا في المسجد في غير وقت الصلاة؟ “قال: هموم لزمتني، وديون يا رسول الله، قال: “أفلا أعلمك كلاما إذا أنت قلته أذهب الله همك، وقضى عنك دينك؟ ” قال: قلت: بلى يا رسول الله، قال: “قل إذا أصبحت وإذا أمسيت: اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الهم والحزن، وأعوذ بك من العجز والكسل، وأعوذ بك من الجبن والبخل، وأعوذ بك من غلبة الدين وقهر الرجال” قال: ففعلت ذلك، فأذهب الله همي، وقضى عني ديني.

3563 – حدثنا عبد الله بن عبد الرحمن قال: أخبرنا يحيى بن حسان قال: حدثنا أبو معاوية، عن عبد الرحمن بن إسحاق، عن سيار، عن أبي وائل، عن علي، أن مكاتبا جاءه فقال: إني قد عجزت عن مكاتبتي فأعني، قال: ألا أعلمك كلمات علمنيهن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم لو كان عليك مثل جبل صير دينا أداه الله عنك، قال: ” قل: اللهم اكفني بحلالك عن حرامك، وأغنني بفضلك عمن سواك “: هذا حديث حسن غريب.
