According to the Hanafi Madhab, the hands during Takbeer-e-Tahrima should be
raised in line with the ear lobes. During Qiyaam, the hands should be tied
below the navel.
In Ruku, the Musallee should clasp both knees with his hand. In Sajdah, the
head should face the direction of the Qiblah, thumbs being in line with the
eyes. The hands should be placed on the thighs with the fingers held
together facing the Qiblah.
The rulings of the other 3 Madhaahib:
Shaaf’ee: In Qiyaam, the hands should be placed on the chest.
Maaliki: The hands should be left loose on the sides.
Ahmad ibn Hambal: A person has a choice to place his hands on his chest or
tie them below his navel.
