Is There Any Part Of One’s Spouse’s Body That One Cannot Kiss?

Answered as per Shafi'i Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Question: Is there any part of one’s spouse’s body that one cannot kiss?

Answer:

Wa alaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Dear questioner,

Thank you for your important question.

The general rule is that a man may derive pleasure from any part of his wife’s body with any part of his body with the sole exception of the anus itself. (I’anat al-Talibin, Dimyati) This would include any part of the body one wishes to kiss.

If one had a particular desire to kiss a particular part of one’s spouse’s body, there would be no need to mention that before the marriage.

Regarding mimicking the disbelievers, this is only forbidden in sinful or offensive matters, in matters specific to their religion, or when done by way of trying to be like them. Merely doing something permissible that they do is not mimicking them.
