I woke for Fajr and realized I needed ghusl, but there was not enough time for me to make the ghusl and pray. What should have I done?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

In the Name of Allah, Most Merciful and Compassionate

If one had made proper arrangements to wake up before going to sleep, they will not be a sinner.

The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “The pen has been lifted from three people (I: their deeds are not written); the sleeping person till he rises; the child till he matures, and the mentally incapable till he recovers consciousness”.

Hence, in spite of making proper arrangements to wake up and having a strong intention, one remained asleep, then one is excusable, because no negligence is intentionally committed by them.

The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “There is no negligence during sleep, but the negligence is during wakefulness”.

The most important thing is that one has to perform the missed salat as soon as possible, as the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Whoever forgot to offer salat or remained asleep, the expiation (make up) for it is that one offers it upon remembering it”…and in another narration it has been stated, ‘that there is no expiation except it.’
