Muslims and Kite Flying: Permissible or Imitation?

Q: Is it permissible for Muslims to fly kites as a form of relaxation or play? Is it imitation of non-Muslims?

Bismillaah

A: On account of the wrongs that are associated with this type of amusement, our Ulama have discouraged it. 

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
