Doubts About Wetness and Impurities

Question:

I am a patient of OCD. I have a bad habit of masturbation. A few days ago, I masturbated (I regret that) and then after 30 minutes, I urinated and then went for a bath. When I was bathing, I had a sensation and feeling in my private part that maybe I leaked urine drops. I have this sensation many times when bathing. I do not know really if I had leaked a urine drop or not. Then after bathing when I had a towel wrapped around my body, I had a very strong feeling and sensation and felt hot in and around the private part. I do not know if it is of urine drops, or water that was on my body.

When I looked at the towel after that, I saw wetness as my body was not dry. I do not know what this wetness is? I did not dry my body after bathing. I do not know if that water was from the body or from urine drops.

I do not know if this is waswās (devilish whispers) or not. I am getting thoughts that everything in my house is impure. Maybe, I actually leaked urine. I am not sure about that. I am very depressed about this dilemma. Is everything impure such as the towel and everywhere I sat or stood?

Please note that I do not know if that wetness is of urine or water that was on my body. I am getting doubts that what if it is really urine drops. I am getting thoughts because I masturbated, the drops of urine maybe due to that. I do not know what to do. What if the urine drops are actually leaked? Is everything impure in my house? I had used the same towel without washing many times, so is everything impure? I had also same feelings and situation many times after masturbation.

Answer:

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allāh, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Jazāk Allāh Khayr/ Thank you for contacting Mathabah Institute.

The impurity you are referring to, can only be certain in the mentioned places, including your body, if you can clearly smell or see the impurity with absolute certainty. A mere assumption or doubt of impurities everywhere, does not constitute things being impure. Try your best to always wash yourself and stay clean. Make a concentrated effort to stop masturbating. Dispel any doubts, as doubts regarding purity are at times from the devil. – (See: Rad Al- Muḥtār, Vol 6, Page 733[1], Vol 1, Page 188[2], Dār Al-Fikr, Al-Qawāid Al-Fiqhīyyah, Page 15, Dār Al-Tirmidhī[3])

Only Allāh knows best.
