How did Nabi SAW cover his noble head?

Answer:

It is Sunnah to cover the head in Prayer and out of prayer. Covering the head is an essential part of the code of dress of a Muslim. It is a Shameful and impolite act to walk in front of others with an uncovered head. This was not the teaching of our beloved Nabi (SAW), His companions (R.A), the Taabi’een and our pious predecessors. Walking bareheaded is an imitation of the Jews, Christians and also it is an odious act. In Volume 1, Page 200 of Durrul Mukhtaar, Allamah Shaami writes that the Salaah performed bareheaded (not covering the head because of laziness) is odious. Therefore, one should be particular in covering his head at all times.

Nabi (SAW) covered his head by wearing a topie and turban. (Fataawaa Rahimiyyah Vol.8 Page 150-151)
