Seeking Forgiveness

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Mahmoodiyah

Question:

Hello;

Just to start off-I am a very religious person and believe in Allah very much and always have. about 7 or 8 months ago a girl had kissed me and I kissed her back and then we had a relationship for about six or seven months-I deeply regretted it and in a way I was always saying to myself that I was using this girl because she was my manager and using her would have not gotten me fired or any other bad thing. anyways I felt so bad I prayed the whole Qur’an just so Allah could forgive me because I know my acts were shameful and could make me go to hell. since then I pray every prayer time and pray the Qur’an everyday-(and I always have since I was like 12). I wanted to know if you could tell me if my acts could make me go to hell even though I was asked for forgiveness to Allah?

please respond

Answer:

Allah Ta’ala says in the Holy Qur’aan: “And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks Allah forgiveness, he will find Allah all forgiving, most merciful” (4:10)

It has been narrated by Ibni Mas’ood (RA) that Rasoolullah (SAW) said, If anyone supplicates ” Astaghfirullahal lathi laa ilaaha illa huwal hayyul qayyum wa atubu ilaih”  his sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield (whilst he was fighting for the cause of Allah” (Abu Dawood, Tirmizi, Haakim)

From the abovementioned Qur’anic verse and Hadith It is understood that if a person does wrong and then sincerely repents to Allah then most definitely Allah will accept his repentance, therefore you must continue repenting to Allah Ta’ala and make a firm intention to abstain from evil in the future.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best
