The author of the Hadith book ‘Sharhus Sunnah’ is ‘Allamah Abu Muhammad Husayn ibn Mas’ud Al Baghawi (rahimahullah). ‘Allamah Baghawi (rahimahullah) is also famous for his book ‘Masabihus Sunnah’ [Mishkatul Masabih is based on this book] and his book on Tafsir, ‘Ma’alimut Tanzil.’
He passed away in the month of Shawwal in the year 516 A.H.
