Q: Can you recite the Qur’an from memory or listen to the Qur’an while you are doing some work or playing? Can you listen to the Qur’an while you are driving or cleaning?
A: It is through the Qur’an we have received the blessing of Deen and guidance. Hence, at all times utmost respect should be afforded to the Qur’an Shareef. While engaged in some work, it is permissible to listen to the Qur’an or recite the Qur’an. However, while playing, one should switch off the recitation of the Qur’an as this is not in keeping to the respect of the Qur’an.
