Authenticity of the Hadith stating that suhur is full of blessings

Question

Please can you give the authenticity and Arabic text of your previous answer:

“Suhur is full of blessings. Hence, do not omit it, even if one is able to have a sip of water at the time of suhur, one should do so, for certainly Allah Ta’ala descends His special mercy upon those who have suhur and the Angels make special du’a for them”

Answer

Imam Ahmad (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al Khudri (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 3 pg. 12)

‘Allamah Mundhiri (rahimahullah) has declared the chain authentic (إسناده قوي)

(Targhib, vol. 2 pg. 139. Also see Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 3 pg. 150 and Al Mudawi, Hadith: 2026)

See: Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 1923, Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1095, Sahih Ibn Hibban; Al Ihsan, Hadith: 3476 and Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 6689 for other corroborating narrations.

Arabic text

السحور أكله بركة، فلا تدعوه، ولو أن يجرع أحدكم جرعة من ماء، فإن الله عز وجل وملائكته يصلون على المتسحرين

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
