A du’a to recite when a storm is approaching

Please provide the reference and Arabic text of this du’a to recite when a storm is approaching:

‘O Allah, we seek refuge in You from the evil of that with which it is sent’

Answer

Imams Ibn Majah, Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah and Nasai (rahimahumullah) have recorded this as part of a longer narration. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would recite this du’a when he would see clouds approaching on the horizon.

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3889, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 29833 and As Sunanul Kubra, Hadith: 1842)

Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah (hafizahullah) has graded the Hadith authentic (sahih).

(Annotations on Musannaf, Hadith: 29833)

Arabic text of the du’a:

اللهم إنا نعوذ بك من شر ما أرسل به

Allahumma inna na’udu bika min sharri ma ursila bihi
