What is the source of this narration?
Amirul Mu’minin Sayyiduna ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said:
“Remind yourselves of Allah, for it is a cure. Do not remind yourselves of people, for it is a disease.”
Answer
This narration is recorded in Kitabuz Zuhd of Imam Ahmad and Imam Hannad ibn Sariy. Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abid Dunya (rahimahullah) has also recorded the narration.
