Do not delay in Charity

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Is the following authentic enough to narrate?

بادروا بالصدقة فإن البلاء لا يتخطاها

Similarly what is the correct wording of the first part: بادروا or باكروا .

If both then which is better to use?

Answer

This has been recorded in the following sources with the word: باكروا

Al-Mu’jamul Awsat of Tabarani, Hadith: 5639 & Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 3082-3083.

The follwing Muhaddithun have also cited it from these two and other sources with the same word:

‘Allamah Mundhiri, Imam Haythami & ‘Allamah Suyuti (rahimahullah).

Refer: Targhib, Hadith: 1286, Majma’uz Zawaid, vol.3 pg.110 & Kanzul ‘Ummal, Hadith: 16243 & 16295

Imam Bayhaqi, ‘Allamah Mindhiri and Hafidh Ibn Hajar (rahimahumullah) have stated that this is more reliably attributed to Sayyiduna Anas (radiyallahu’anhu), and should therefore be attributed to him, rather than Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam).

(Sunanul Kubra, vol.4 pg.189, Targhib, Hadith: 1286, 1288 & Al-Maqasidul Hasanah, Hadith: 281)
