Imams Ibn Khuzaymah’s and Ibn Hibban’s rank being higher than Imam Hakim (rahimahumullah)

و قالوا ابن خزيمة وابن حبان أمكن وأقوي من الحاكم وأحسن وألطف فى اﻷسانيد والمتون

(Mishkat muqaddimah)

What does ألطف mean in the above ibarah?

Answer:

One may understand it in light of the context as being more elegant in the manner he cites the chains and texts of the Hadiths.

I haven’t seen any specific explanation of this word that may suggest otherwise.
