Caring for orphans

Please verify this narration.

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“The best house among the Muslims is a house in which there is an orphan who is treated well and the worst house among the Muslims is a house in which there is an orphan who is treated badly”

Answer

Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). ‘Allamah Busiri (rahimahullah) has stated that the chain is weak.

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3679, Al Adabul Mufrad, Hadith: 137. Refer: Zawaid Sunan Ibn Majah, pg. 475. Also see: Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 219)

The Hadith in question is suitable to quote as is the case with Hadiths of this nature.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
