Are there Quranic verses and authentic Hadiths that discuss homosexuality?

Answer

Allah Ta’ala has repeatedly warned mankind of the actions of the people of Lut (‘alayhis salam) in the Quran.

Hadiths on this topic

1. Sayyiduna Jabir (radiyallahu’anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:

‘The greatest fear that I have for my Ummah, is [that they will engage in] the action of the people of [Nabi] Lut.’

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1457 and Mustadrak Hakium, vol.4 pg.357)

Imams Tirmidhi, Hakim and Dhahabi (rahimahumullah) have authenticated this Hadith.

2. Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu’anhuma) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:

‘…Allah’s curse be upon those who do the action of the people of Lut.’ [Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) repeated this curse thrice!]
