My parents gave me money to pay for something. There was some change left over is it haraam for me to use that money?

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahamtullahi wa barakatuhu,
If you know that your parents will not mind if you use the change, then it will be permissible for you to use it. It is best to still inform them that you used the additional amount.
However, if your parents will mind, then it is not permissible to use that extra amount. You will have to get consent from them.
