Question

Is it permissible to do istinja by pouring water and then wiping with a tissue until clean or must you also use your hand?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

The aim of istinjaa is to purify oneself from impurities after relieving oneself. Therefore it is permissible if one pours water then wipes with a tissue. One is allowed to remove impurities with things other than water as long as they are not from among the forbidden things like bones, coal, food, etc.[1]
