Do I have to pay zakat on my property?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulfiqh.com

Do I have to pay zakat on my property?
 Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In essence, only the following categories are zakātable:

1)     Gold and silver

2)     Cash

3)     Merchandise

4)     Agricultural products

5)     Animals and livestock

Personal belongings such as a house, car and clothes are not subject to zakāt.[1]

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
