Q: Can a zakaat collecter get a commission from the money that he collects?
A:No he cannot get a commission.He should be given a fixed wage .Then he could be given an incentive for example for every thousand rand he collects he gets twenty rand.This has to be paid from lillah and not from zakaat. (fatwa mahmoodiya vol. 25 p.178)
