Not Fulfilling a Contract

Q: If a person signs a contract to work for a year and after a few days he leaves without a valid reason must he be paid for those few days work?

A:By him leaving work without a valid excuse he has committed a major sin. Nevertheless he should be paid for the few days he worked. (Ahsanul Fataawa volume 7)
