Question: Assalamu alaykum
I am a follower of the Shafi´i madhab. Sometimes I have to apply a serum to my scalp which contains alcohol because I suffer from hair loss.
Can I follow the Hanafi opinion on taharah that such alcohol or alcoholic perfumes are pure while still observing the rules of wudu and prayer according to the Shafi´i school?
You should be fine.
Please see this answer.
Having the alcoholic substance on the limbs of wudu is not the issue, the issue is praying while having it on you and not having washed it off. If you can wash it off before you pray, you should do. Otherwise, you should be okay.
I pray this helps.
