Sometimes by not attending we will be causing problems within the family, and breakage of relationships, so is it better to attend?
The things you mentioned in your question such as a graduation party, party for finishing the Koran, and just for starting school are allowed to attend. The rest of the parties you mentioned are not allowed to attend some of them are just innovations and other are celebrations of non-Muslims.
