Does My Fast Break Due to a Thought of a Sexual Nature?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Question

When I was making up my fast I had thought that when am engage in a halal relationship, my husband hugs me, we build a house, he hugs me and he talks good about me on how he is at peace when he stayed with me. Does this thought invalidate my past and are there sexual thoughts?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Compassionate

No. Thoughts, whether of a sexual nature or not, can never break the fast. Even if the thought leads to ejaculation without any direct intervening action (such as detailed below), the fast is valid. [Maydani, al-Lubab fi Sharh al-Kitab]

If the sexual thought, leads to intercourse or masturbation, the fast is invalid-not because of the thought but because of the subsequent action. [Ibid.]

Hope this helps
