While fasting, a person hugs his wife and happens to ejaculate, what does he have to do?

Salaams Ya Mufti,

I pray that all is well with all of you.

Q:I need a ruling: A man hugs his wife whilst fasting and he ejaculates. There was no sexual intercourse. His fast is broken. How does he compensate?

Was-salaam.

Wa Alaikum as salaam,
A:In this case, he will do a Qadha fast. That is, he is required to only make up for that day since it was broken through his action.
