Question: Assalam alaykum

If one of the family members will perform the ritual slaughter (udhiya) is it important for all other family members to not cut their hair or nails?

Answer: Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,

No, it is praiseworthy for the person sacrificing alone to avoid such personal upkeep (shaving before the slaughter of their animal). This doesn’t extend to other members of the household.
