Niqab in Prostration

I just wanted to enquire that a sister told me while she prays she has been told to lift her Niqab up while in Sajood, can you clarify this for me please.

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

It is superior to raise the face veil (niqab) when prostrating—as it is sunna to prostrate directly on one’s forehead—but not obligatory, in the Hanafi school. [Ibn Abidin, Radd al-Muhtar]
