I have a friend that wants to do niqab but is scared because she thinks that she is being a hypocrite by wearing it and that she sends out a wrong message and so she stopped doing niqab. Is this correct or should she continue doing niqab. Also is it sinful to start niqab and then stop? I mean I know niqab is farz but what if emotionally you just can’t do it and can’t take the criticism but you try it out for a week or two then stop? Please give detailed answer.
You should start wearing ‘niqab’ and it is obligatory. Like you said, it is important that we try to rid ourselves of all mistakes and unreligious things but it does not mean that because we fail in some aspects we should also forego religion in other aspects of life voluntarily. It would not be hypocritical, as you think; to wear ‘niqab’ rather you should try to leave other bad things at the same time. Whatever we can do is good for us and better for us. If we are bad from the inside than we should turn to Allah for forgiveness but we should not be blunt in showing our badness in public, because this would be a declaration or a statement to people that we don’t care about Allah.
