Is Coca Cola halal or haram due to its 1% alcohol content?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
I want to ask if coca cola is halal or haram as they said there is 1percent of alcohole in it

Answer
Assalamu alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Coca Cola is not Haraam. It does not contain alcohol in the product hence permissible. If alcohol is used, it would be for flavouring in which case the alcohol dissipates so the amount left in the end product is trace (negligible). That said, if one prefers not to drink Coca Cola for any reason then there are more benefits than harms in avoiding it.

Does the Coca Cola logo really say “la Muhammad and la Makkah” when you see it in mirror orientation?
