Salaam. Please refer to the two hadiths below.Narrated Jabir bin ‘Abdullah : A funeral procession passed in front of us and the Prophet stood up and we too stood up. We said, ‘O Allah’s Apostle! This is the funeral procession of a Jew.” He said, “Whenever you see a funeral procession, you should stand up.” Bukhari 2:23:398………………………………………….. ………………………………………….. ….Narrated ‘Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila: Sahl bin Hunaif and Qais bin Sad were sitting in the city of Al-Qadisiya. A funeral procession passed in front of them and they stood up. They were told that funeral procession was of one of the inhabitants of the land i.e. of a non-believer, under the protection of Muslims. They said, “A funeral procession passed in front of the Prophet and he stood up. When he was told that it was the coffin of a Jew, he said, “Is it not a living being (soul)?” Bukhari 2:23:399The above two hadiths have been explained by a brother in this manner: “we learn the underlying cause (Asbaab-ul-Hadeeth اسباب الحديث) through authentic sources that Allaah’s Messenger Muhammad صلی الله عليه وسلم stood up so that the bier would not pass above the heads of the Muslims, as this is a form of humiliation to them. If this is the underlying reason (which in fact is) for his standing up, then the practice of standing up for a bier (Janaaza جنازه) will be restricted to the bier of a disbeliever. But i and all my other muslim brothers and sisters have always known that the Prophet (s) stood up because of what he said in the hadiths and basically to show respect to humanity. What is the correct explanation?jazakzwsalaam

- Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah, Dear Sheikh, I pray to Allah SWT that you are enjoying a good health & high Islamic spirit. (1) It has come to my knowledge that some people observe certain nawwafil salaah by reciting any specific surah a certain number of times( that is more than once) in each raka’ah after reading surah faati’ha. Sometimes they would make an extra sajdah after reading the tashahhud & darood and there, they would ask for any specific doah they are in need for. They would even call this salah as haajaat. However I have not cross of any of this kind of salaah in the ahadeeth. Could you please enlighten me on this. (2) My second question is about those ‘aamil who after asking someone’s name & mother’s name, claim that they make istikhaarah salah in order to find out if that person is under the influence of jiin or evil eyes etc. As far as i understand, Istikhaarah salaah is accomplished when someone is unsure of whether doing something is good for him/her or not. But what I don’t understand is how Istikhaarah salaah can help someone to find out the malady of someone else. Would that not be more appropriate to offer haajah salaah in this context? I look forward to your valuable views and comments on the above two issues Incha Allah. I thank you in anticipation for your cooperation. Wassalaam.
- I consulted a doctor regarding this and he said that it is bladder malformation. Whenever I change my posture urine starts flowing down through my thighs and then to legs. All the time my clothes will have the stains of urine. I use sanitary pads while I attend any occasion or on any important work. Excessive use of pads for long hours gets slight anal pain. I feel uncomfortable using pajamas, long dresses. I feel comfortable in shorts, short skirts that give exposure to air so as to keep myself dry. There is no male member in my family; no one stops me wearing such dresses. I wear short dresses only at home. I know it is against Islam to have exposure of my body parts, wearing short clothes. What should I do?.) I am having a lot of difficulty in doing my namaz. I perform wudhu, keep my namaz clothes separate, which I wear just before namaz. After completing I again change my clothes. Even in between namaz, while standing for ruku, doing sajdah, urine?
