Will inserting medication in one’s private parts break ghusal and wudhu?

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q:

1. If I apply some medicine on my rectum and it goes inside, do I have to make ghusal or wudhu?

2. My wife has been prescribed some passaries, some to to be inserted in vagina. If she does so, will she do ghusal or wudhu?

Bismillaah

A:

1. You do not require wudhu or ghusl.

2. No.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
