Hadith commentaries other than the famous commentaries on the Sihah sittah

Question

Where can I find explanations of Hadith besides the commentaries of the Sihah Sittah and other famous Hadith books other than Faydul Qadir?

Answer

You could refer to Mirqatul Mafatih of Mulla ‘Ali Al Qari (rahimahullah), which is a commentary of Mishkatul Masabih.

Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah (hafizahullah) usually recommends Faydul Qadir (‘Allamah Munawi’s commentary on ‘Allamah Suyuti’s Jami’us Saghir) and Mirqatul Mafatih for commentary on Hadith. Similarly, there are several other commentaries of Mishkatul Masabih as well as Jami’us Saghir that one can refer to.

Alternatively, you could refer to the books on ‘Gharibul Hadith’, books that explain the uncommon/difficult words found in Hadith, like An Nihayah Fi Gharibil Hadith of ‘Allamah Ibnul Athir (rahimahullah) and Majma’u Biharil Anwar of Shaykh Muhammad Tahir Patni (rahimahullah).

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
