How authentic is this Hadith?
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“To attend a gathering of a scholar is more rewarding than attending one thousand funerals, offering one thousand rak’ahs of prayers, one thousand Hajj and one thousand battles”
Answer
‘Allamah Dhahabi (rahimahullah) has declared this Hadith a fabrication due to there being a fabricator in the chain. It is therefore not suitable to quote.
