Those who don’t carry out good deeds and don’t abandon sins will enter Jahannam

Is the Hadith authentic?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “No one will enter Jahannam except the wretched” It was said: ‘O Rasulullah’, who is regarded to be wretched?’ He replied: ‘The one who never does any act of obedience for Allah Ta’ala and who never omits any act of sin for Him”

Answer

Imam Ibn Majah and Imam Ahmad (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). ‘Allamah Busiri (rahimahullah) has declared the chain weak.

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 4298, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 2 pg. 349. Zawaid Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1464, pg. 558)

The Hadith is suitable to quote despite its weakness.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
