Becoming a Khalifa in Trinidad.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Question:

Can someone claim to be a Khalifa in Trinidad?

Answer:

Khilafah (Caliphate) is an administrative and honorary position bestowed upon an individual by an established Islamic Authority under an Islamic State. A Khalifa (Caliph) is someone of high and noble status who commends the respect and loyalty of the people.

In modern Islamic States, the Caliphate system is not used and has been replaced by Monarchy rule, hence the use of the word “King” and “Prince” instead.

As such no one can lay claim to being a Khalifa (Caliph) in Trinidad or anywhere else in the world. To do so is an act of ignorance.

And Allah knows best.
