Q. I want to know if it is okay for a husband to scandalize his wife’s name and he thinks that it is something good that he is doing. I being a woman have asked him for a divorce about a year ago. This year he told me to organize for it, which I did. I went to the Divorce board and I proceeded. I am being wrongly accused by him. Am I wrong for doing this?
A. It is totally haram for the husband to do this. If he does not wish to live with his wife, then he should separate from the wife instead of scandalizing her. This which the husband is doing is a very grave sin in Islam.
