Is glycerine sourced from plants or animal fat?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
My question is that recently i came to know that glycerine(which we commonly use as a moisturizer and is included in many creams)is sourced either from plants or from animal fat and on searching for this on net i got a list from renowned site ,in which glycerine is included in “suspected list”and when i check the ingridients of the bolltled glycerine it was not mentioned there whether it is from plant source or animal fat. since then i have given up its use .I still want to confirm it from you ,plz kindly help me …and plz kindly send me the list of halal and haram chemical ingridients so that in future we can save ourself from anything which is unlawful.

You can get it from any reliable laboratory. We do not have any list of chemical ingredients in our Darul Ifta. We cannot write a definite ruling about its impurity until it is known by definite source and observation that any impure ingredient is mixed in it.
