What is the compensation (Kafarah) for someone who has sworn many times and failed to fulfill their promise?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Aslamulaikum, Dear Scholar if a person has swore many times and he/she has failed on that one and now repentance on it so how many Kafarah he has to perform for those many swears which taken by name of Allah? Thanks

Answer

(Fatwa: 172/172/M=1431)

By failing oath if you mean that he could not fulfil the oath and turned hanis (committed what he swore not to do) then kaffarah (expiation) is wajib on him. One kind of kaffarah is to feed ten poor two times to their hearts content, or dress ten poor, and if someone is not able to do so, he can keep fast three days continuously. In the above-mentioned question, what are the words of swearing one spoke many a time? What was his intention? If the nature of all the oaths is different, there would be separate kaffarah for each oath.
