Can we make a niyat (intention) to pray two rak’ah of Salah as shukrana if our dua or our work gets accomplished?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
“Can we make niyat like – if so so work is completed or my so so dua is accepted i will pray 2 raka salah as shukrana (Thank giving) or i will keep fast for this? ”

Answer

(Fatwa: 1409/1125=L=1430)

Yes, you can make intention in this way, but the rulings of nazr (vow) will be applied only when you say so verbally. In this case, performing salah or fasting sawm whatever will be meant will be necessary.
