(Fatwa: 160/160=L)

It is compulsory on the debtor to pay the debt since the creditor will have every right to litigate against the debtor on the Day of Judgement: لان خصومۃ صاحب الدین اشد (منظومۃ ابن وھبان: 1/84), whether the creditor is a Muslim or a non-Muslim, even the scholars have stated that the litigation of a non-Muslim is severer than that of a Muslim:

مسلم غصب من ذمی مالاً او سرقہ فانہ یعاقب علیہ یوم القیامۃ لانہ اخذ مالاً معصوماً والذمی لایرجی منہ العفو [الشامی: 5/59]

Yes, if anyone is really unable to pay off his debts then it is hoped that Allah will forgive him and will pay his debts from His boundless Treasure, but as long as he lives he has to try his best to pay the debt.

(2) Allah has ordained Muslims to have good conduct with parents: ?Say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them In terms of honour. And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through Mercy.? (Quran: 17/23, 24) Therefore, you are bound to behave well with them and avoid giving them any kind of hurting or annoyance. If your parents engage in any argument or fight then try to resolve the issue with wisdom and do not go emotional.

Allah (Subhana Wa Ta’ala) knows Best
