Is it Halal to sell tailoring materials for the following?

Is it Halal to sell tailoring materials when I am sure many of them will use my products are for:

  1. To stitch shirts for men (Which I think Halal)
  2. To stitch normal garments and Abayas for women (Which I think Halal)
  3. To stitch Churidars (usually non-Muslim dress which will not cover 100 % of what is required to cover for women) (Which I think Haram)
  4. To decorate the above mentioned Churidars or similar dress (Which I think Haram)

I am currently working abroad and wish to be settled with family. Many business came through my mind but many of them clear Haram or clear Halal, but this one I am not sure, kindly advise me.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh

In principle, the sale of any item/good which has dual/multiple purposes, some of which may be permissible and some impermissible, the sale of such an item is permitted. One will not be responsible for the impermissible usage of such an item by the purchaser. With regards to your specific question, the sale of tailoring materials is permitted since such items have dual/multiple purposes, some permissible and some impermissible as you have indicated in your question.

 يجوز بيع البربط والطبل والمزمار والنرد، وأشباه ذلك في قول أبي حنيفة، وعندهما لا يجوز بيع هذه الأشياء.1

وجه قولهما: إن هذه الأشياء أعدت للمعصية حتى صارت بحال لا يستعمل إلا في المعصية، فسقطت ماليتها والتحقت بالعدم، ومن شرط جواز البيع المالية.

ولأبي حنيفة: إن هذه الآلات ليست بمحرمة العين، وكونها آلة المعصية إنما يوجب سقوط التقوم والمالية إذا كانت متعينة للمعصية، وهذه الأشياء لم تتعين آلة للمعصية؛ لأن الانتفاع بهذه الأشياء ممكن بوجه حلال بأن يجعل النرد صنجات الموازين، والبربط والطبل والدف ظروف الأشياء، وإذا لم تكن متعينة للمعصية تقومها كالمعيبة فإنه لما تصور الانتفاع يعينها بطريق حلال لا يسقط تقومها وماليتها حتى جاز بيعها كذا ههنا.
