Q: If a wife leaves for another country for more than 10 days for work with out her husband even though work is not relevant to support the home or personal expenses. It’s just for outing and career development. After the husband forbade her from going, if the wife did not listen and left home without any mahram, what does such a wife deserve from the husband or what is the punishment according to Shari’ah for such a wife?
A: She will not be worthy of nafaqah during that period from her husband. If she does possess Deeni understanding she should be apprised and educated regarding her marital obligations towards her husband.
