Those who say that dua is bida’h after fardh salah and insist for the same are creating trouble. According to Shariah it is wrong to term it bida’h and insist on it. They do not know the definition of bida’h. The fact is that dua is accepted after fardh salah and it is proved from hadith. If anyone supplicates practicing these hadith then it is injustice to call it bida’h. Also hadith encourages for dua after fardh salah and it is for both imam and muqtadi. And when all practice the same then it automatically takes the shape of collective act; otherwise in itself if some muqtadi supplicate before imam and extend it after imam or he walks away without dua in case of any emergency then there is no harm. However, to supplicate loudly on this occasion and consider collective dua as necessary and take those who go against it wrong is injustice. It is bida’h to consider it necessary. The followers of Imam Azam Abu Hanifa and Imam Shafai (رحمهما الله تعالى) neither term it bida’h insisting on the same nor adopt injustice and bida’h rather they follow whatever is mentioned in hadith. Then why one should bother with their saying and practice.
