Would it be permissible for one to repeat Surat al-Fatiha in the same rak’at on purpose in order to gain khushu’ in salah, or would this call for Sujud al-Sahw to be offered?

Schools often visit our masjid and they pay for coming in and visit it (classes of around 15 to 25 students and their teachers). At least 10 brothers can alternate themselves, depending on their availability, dedicating their time, sometimes 45 minutes up to 2 hours, and welcoming and introducing the masjid to those schools. Here are my questions: 1) It is lawful taking the money, by the management of the masjid for the masjid, for the visit, considering that we have the opportunity to directly talk with them and let them hear from a Muslim the correct Islamic point of view of their questions? 2) It is lawful for the brother(s) to take some of the amount paid by the school, considering this as a refund for the time wasted, or for any other reason. Here is a brief explanation of the 2° question: I’m working, and I have to living my work to a friend of mine, came to the mosque and spending there 2 hours. I want to be paid for the 2 hours. Or: I’ve to take the bus, and I’m loosing a lot of time, so I want to be paid for doing such thing.

Recently, I found out that a hair brush that I have been using may be made of boar bristles. If it really is made of that material, do I have to make up my prayers? Or is using this type of brush permissible?

In a prayer schedule there is the time for Fajr and Shuruq. Shuruq time indicates the end of the Fajr prayer. Since we cannot pray immediately after Shuruq, when can we perform the Duha prayer? How many minutes after the Shuruq time in a prayer schedule can one pray Duha?

I have just joined a new company. I get about 45 minutes to an hour for lunch. I have to offer my Duhr and Asr prayers at work. Could I do my Duhr and Asr one after the other. I could offer late Duhr, (not Qada) and then do Asr right after it. I also want to clarify that I am doing this because there is one room where I can do my prayers and this room is not always available, so saying both prayers at their respective time and having a gap between the two prayers is sometimes impossible.

I would be very grateful if you could explain to us what is meant by “choosing the lesser of two evils”. Is this based on any evidence from the Qur’an and Sunnah and is it a recognised principle from amongst the classical scholars or only a contemporary principle?

In the areas that are situated on extreme latitudes, you mentioned that there are four methods of calculating the times for the Eisha and Fajr prayers. How would these times be used for fasting in Ramadan? It seems that any of the methodologies enumerated could result in 20+ hour fasts, which does not seem reasonable for an entire month of fasting. It may become very difficult for one to fast for 20 hours and more.
