Is going to mosque necessary to be a good Muslim?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftisays.com
2 b a gud muslim du u ave 2 go 2 mosque?

Answer
For a man, it is Waajib for him to perform his Salaah in congregation so for this reason it is necessary for him to go to the mosque to be a good Muslim. Other than the five time prayers, if without going to a mosque a person can keep in contact with scholars and pious people who can guide and rectify him, then attendance will not be obligatory.

However, other than the five time prayers, if a person cannot keep in contact with scholars and pious people, then he has to go to the mosque because speeches and other such functions are kept with which he can rectify himself.

However, for a woman, if she is getting the necessary Islamic teachings in her home through her father or husband or brother e.t.c then she shouldnt go to the Mosque. Otherwise she can go to the mosque even though it is in-appropriate.

Allah knows best.
