Reasons for Foundlings` Widespread Phenomenon

Answered as per Shafi'i Fiqh by Darul Iftaa Jordan
From an Islamic perspective, what are the reasons for foundlings' widespread phenomenon in society?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah the Lord of the Worlds. May His peace and blessings be upon Prophet Mohammad and upon all his family and companions.

The main reason for the widespread phenomenon of foundlings in society is non-adherence to the teachings of Sharia and the intermingling between men and women. This is in addition to the proliferation of media, which facilitates and encourages sin, and portrays violating Sharia Law as an act of heroism. Another factor is that young men are refraining from marriage because they insist on luxuries they can`t afford.

It is worth pointing that not all foundlings are bastards; rather, some are legitimate, but were abandoned by their parents for different reasons. And Allah the Almighty knows best.
