Can we buy a house on mortgage?

I would like to know if I could buy a house with a mortgage through a regular Bank. Please let me know.

Can we buy a house on mortgage?
It is not allowed to buy a house on mortgage; except if there is a way of getting a loan in a method which is allowed by Shariat.
