Is It Valid to Marry the Same Person Again While Being Married to Him?

Question: Assalam alaykum

Is it valid to marry the same person again while being married to him?

Answer: Wa alaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

You should perform the official marriage ceremony [containing the verbal contract] a single time, properly and with all of its sunnas. There shouldn’t be a need to repeat the ceremony, but if a reliable scholar states that it needs to be repeated for a valid reason, such as in the case a condition was not met, then it should be redone.
