Status of nikaah if couple don’t have intercourse

Q: I have heard of a couple who did not have intercourse for the last few years . The wife looks after the house and the children. Can they live togther without having intercource. Is their nikaah valid?

Bismillaah

A: Yes it is permissible. They are married and the nikaah has not terminated.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
